Why did you choose the MS Health Communication Program at Northwestern University?
I needed a revitalization and a challenge. I looked over the course content of the program and it gave me a new found excitement for my career path. It made me feel like I had the potential to make a difference within the healthcare system.
What are your career goals?
I would like to focus my career in education and preventative medicine. This is the future of sustainable healthcare. Changes in healthcare are hard. I want to help bridge that gap between healthcare versus “sick care”.
What is your favorite part of the program so far?
I really like how detailed the content is. I also find it fascinating that a large portion of the content is information I have never thought of or dealt with before. It is really opening my mind and my eyes to ways of creating a more sustainable healthcare system.
Any tips on balancing school, work, and life?
Don’t procrastinate! Break the work up and set goals for yourself!
Is there any additional advice or information that you would share?
Being here, a part of this program, is a big deal to me. It is an honor to be a part of the Northwestern family and I am so excited for the next steps in my career!
