Type of Work: Compliance for a health insurance broker

Hometown: Batavia, Illinois

What are your interests/hobbies?
Reading, fitness, traveling, going to local concerts, and cooking.

What are your favorite Chicago activities?
Cubs games, sailing on Lake Michigan, mini golf at Diversey Harbor, Shedd Aquarium, and there are always new restaurants popping up around town to try!

Did you work full time through the program?
Yes I did. The time commitment was reasonable, however, the last semester was a little harder to juggle than the rest. Overall, I was able to fit in the necessary time for schoolwork while maintaining my work performance.

Professionally, what are you doing now?
I am a compliance manager for GoHealth.

Tell us about a “Northwestern moment.” More specifically, was there a moment either in class or otherwise associated with the program where something really clicked for you?
I loved the Organizational Behavior course with Dr. Kricke. I would eventually like to do something with process improvement within health care, and I found her course to be incredibly insightful.

How has the program changed the way you view healthcare?
I’ve learned just about every possible way to carry out a public health campaign, and the theories that go along with making a campaign successful. Through this program, I gained a better understanding for how difficult it is to bring about behavior change and various tactics to persuade such change.

Did you discover anything new or unexpected at Northwestern?
The program definitely helped me determine which path I’d like to take in my career and helped me to put in to terms the type of work I’d like to be doing.
